Somali President Reaffirms Support for Qatar During High-Level Meeting in Doha

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Qatari Royal Palace on Monday, underscoring Mogadishu’s unwavering support for Doha.
During the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh emphasized that Somalia will never accept any violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, dignity, or security, stressing the shared values and solidarity between the two nations.
For his part, Emir Tamim expressed appreciation for Somalia’s stance, highlighting the importance of deepening the historic partnership and strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Somali leader, accompanied by Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali, arrived in Doha to participate in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, convened in response to the Israeli attack on Qatar on September 9.
The summit focused on reinforcing Arab and Islamic unity amid the crisis, with a draft resolution expected to be adopted by participating states.
